7 Things you need to do when you travel to Capri

The island of Capri is a beautiful Italian rocky island in the Gulf of Naples. Capri is known for its many mysterious caves, especially the Blue Grotto.

The island can only be reached by ferry: from many places on the Amalfi Coast or from Naples you can get on the ferry. The shortest route is from Sorrento to Capri. Already during the crossing you can enjoy the view over the sea.

In my opinion, Capri is one of the most beautiful places in Italy. I would visit the island again at any time. Here, I’ve picked out seven things you must have done on a trip to the island:

See the Faraglioni

The Faraglioni on Capri are two large rocks in the middle of the sea in front of the island. From many places on the island you can admire them. But on a boat tour you can also go through the arch of the rocks.

Visit the Blue Grotto of Capri

Capri is famous for its blue grotto. This is a cave whose entrance is a small rock hole in the sea. The cave cannot be reached without a boat.
Because the cave attracts many tourists, the waiting time in front of the cave is almost an hour. But the three-minute ride in a tiny boat through the cave is worth it. Because the water inside the cave shimmers in a very special blue. This is because the daylight is reflected below sea level and falls into the cave.

Make a boat trip

On a boat tour around the island you can see a lot more of the island than on the island itself. Not only the sparkling water, but also caves, lighthouses and famous rocks. Depending on the boat trip you book, you can even jump from the boat into the water for a small bath.

Capri

Relax at the Beach

Not only can you go from one place to another on Capri to explore it, but you can also relax on the beach, enjoy the warm sun and take a bath in the sea. Capri has many public beaches to offer, but unfortunately there is no sand at the beach but with the beautiful view of the water, this is no longer noticeable.

Enjoy sunrises and sunsets

The best sunsets are probably seen on the left half of the island on Anacapri. But also on Capri you can admire many beautiful sunsets as well as sunrises.
For these amazing sunrises it is also worth it to wake up early in the morning. The best sunrises and sunsets you will probaly see are at the Lookout Point of the Faraglioni. To see the sunrise the Natural Arch is also a good place to watch it.

See the Arco Naturale

High above the cliffs, there is an arch-shaped rock. Through it you can see the turquoise blue water and the vast distance of the sea. Since this place is very popular for tourists, it is worth coming here early in the morning to enjoy the silence of nature.

Explore the district of Capri

The district of Capri is not very large, but has a lot to offer. Many small Italian shops, restaurants, bars and cafes line up. You can also enjoy the view over the sea and the island from high up. But if Capri is not enough, you can also visit the village of Anacapri. From Capri you can easily take the bus to the other half of the island.
